ABOUT
Entrance is a contemporary art gallery founded by Louis Shannon, rooted in the downtown New York art community and built around exhibitions, events, and artist-curated projects. Beginning on the Lower East Side at 48 Ludlow Street, Entrance developed as an intimate space focused on emerging and independent voices. Over time, Entrance expanded beyond the traditional gallery space, growing to include a 10,000-square-foot outdoor sculpture space in Red Hook in 2024 dedicated to large-scale works, installations, performances, and community-facing cultural projects. Today, Entrance operates across the Lower East Side and Red Hook, continuing to present established contemporary artists while maintaining the informal, experimental spirit of New York’s downtown scene.
